# FAQ

> Short answers to common questions.

**Does Bridg hold my funds?**
No. Bridg never holds funds or keys. Your wallet signs every transaction.

**Do I need an account or API key?**
No. Every endpoint is open, bounded by [rate limits](/api-reference/rate-limits).

**Why did a venue with a bigger number not win?**
Either it was not executable (it can price the corridor but cannot produce something your wallet can sign) or its advertised output was not its net output. Ranking is on what lands.

**Is the quoted output what I receive?**
It is what the chosen venue answered for the amount that is bridged, net of the platform fee. `minAmountOutAtomic` is the floor you agreed to. A delivery in a different asset settles as `PARTIAL`; check `receivedAsset` and `receivedAmountAtomic` on the transfer.

**What is `quote_drifted`?**
A quote near expiry is re-priced once before it is built. If the price moved past the allowed budget, the build is refused with both figures. Quote again.

**I signed but never submitted. Where is the transfer?**
It exists as `PENDING_SIGNATURE` and can be read by id.

**Can I choose the venue?**
Yes. Pass `quoteId` to build. It must name a row in that decision that was scored `ok`.

**What does a transfer cost?**
Nothing, unless the aggregation saved you more than 10 bps against the other quotes. Then 5 to 15 bps of the amount bridged, capped at \$10, taken in the asset you send, on the source chain. See [Fees](/concepts/fees).

**Is there a rate limit?**
Yes: 10 quotes, builds or submits a minute, per IP and per requester wallet. Reads are not limited. A `429` carries `retryAfterMs`. See [Rate limits](/api-reference/rate-limits).

**How do I know when a transfer is done?**
Poll `GET /bridge/transfers/{id}` until `status` is terminal, or use `waitForTransfer` in the SDK. See [Track a transfer](/guides/track-a-transfer).
