# Chains

> Every chain key the API accepts, grouped by virtual machine.

Chain keys are lowercase strings, the same on every endpoint. Which chains a transfer can start from right now is answered live by [`GET /bridge/source-chains`](/api-reference/markets/source-chains); which venues serve a corridor by [`GET /bridge/routes`](/api-reference/markets/routes).
